Rustic DIY Wedding Ideas

I love weddings. The emotions, the beauty, the love, families coming together- what get's better than that?

Matt and Julia's wedding was a gorgeous event at a rustic venue in Mill Valley, CA. Julia added a very personal touch with her DIY wedding ideas, which were adorable! Unfortunately I must have had too much champagne, because my pictures are fuzzy and do not do the wedding justice. Below I have shared a few ideas from Matt and Julia's wedding, as well as some ideas that I would love to showcase at my wedding ... in a few years or so...

Vintage mirrors were scattered throughout the venue. This lovely frame was displayed in the ladies restroom. These small touches created a warm, chic ambiance.

In the entrance of the dining hall, there was a collage of photos of Matt and Julia with family and friends in a collection of frames. Also displayed on the table was a vintage chalk board with "love" written on it. How cute is this?!

This distressed wood plank with hooks was used to let the guests know what table they were assigned to. What a useful and crafty idea!

Handmade "bride" and "groom" signs hung from Matt and Julia's chairs, which I was not able to capture, but they were very similar to the "Mr." and "Mrs." signs here. This is a creative way to display the seating arrangement. Also, I am just loving these wedding chalk boards!

I love the painted distressed wood utilized here. What a cheap and fun way to throw the biggest party of your life!

What are some wedding ideas or themes that you love?

Matt & Julia are Getting Married!

Hi loves, Happy Wednesday (which is my Friday this week, Yippeeee!)

This weekend is a very special weekend for us, it is not only the Fourth of July, but it is also the wedding of my boyfriend's brother and his fiance, Matt and Julia.

The wedding will take place at the gorgeous rustic Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley this Saturday. Julia had spent a ton of time on DIY wedding projects and I am looking forward to experiencing the final outcome!

More pictures of the wedding to come after this weekend, or follow along on my Instagram :)

I am so happy for these two!

Matt and Julia 2013!

What are your Fourth of July plans?

'Tis The Season for Weddings

I have been majorly wracking my brain for ideas on what to wear to my boyfriend's brother's wedding (which is in two weeks, yikes!) Now that I am approaching 28, it seems as though I have a wedding to attend in every season. This is good and bad. Good because I have an excuse to go shopping for a gorgeous dress, and bad because I am spending WAY too much money on dresses I only really wear on occasion.

Above are my choices for winter, summer, and fall weddings. These dresses are versatile enough to wear to multiple events (and even at work!)

Which wedding season is your favorite?

Oh, and HAPPY FRIDAY!

Nine Uses for Mason Jars: The All the Rage Home Accessory

Mason Jars have become a HUGE part of my daily routine. It's a wonder how versatile these hip jars can be! Whether it's drinking my daily juice or lighting a candle, I can't get enough of these things around my home.

Take a peek at nine quirky and useful ways to show off your mason jar addiction:

Pack your lunch (I make quinoa veggie salads for work, ^ see above!)

Funky light fixtures.

Take a trip down memory lane at an anniversary party or bridal shower.

Hang for a rustic wedding or outdoor BBQ.

Class them up at a candle light dinner.

Pick a theme and run with it. Fill a jar with sand for a beach themed bathroom.

Everyone loves a wine tasting party.

Use in the kitchen to store flour, sugar, and other dry foods.

Serve up some tea on a hot day :)
